Phoenix Palm v2 is a free example 3D model of the Interior Plants bundle. Formats include 3Ds Max, Sketchup, Blender, CINEMA 4D, LightWave, MODO, Artlantis, FBX OBJ and several renderers. This model of a Phoenix palm is based on a highly detailed GrowFX procedural model and includes ONE variations (out of 4 variations in the full product) of the phoenix palm plant for interior visualization. The material contains 2 (two) different textures for the leaves, 2 textures for the cut off branches and 1 bark texture.
If if you own the 3Ds Max plugin GrowFX 1.9.6 for 3ds max (available separately from Exlevel), you will be able to create unlimited variations of this phoenix palm 3D model yourself. You can easily modify the size, height, and random variation to further enrich your visualization. The full version of Interior Plants includes 60 models in total for various formats to decorate your scenes with realistic plants and enrich the look and appearance of your renderings.

After 15 years in architectural and product visualisation I have built up a reasonable library of prop models but most aren’t quite cutting it by today’s standards – especially the plant models. I searched the usual places for better quality models, and even wondered about purchasing speedtree to make my own, but as soon as I saw (and tried) these models it was a no-brainer. What is especially useful is that there are Lightwave versions so I don’t need to purchase an interchange format (such as obj) and do my own conversions.

Before I ordered a batch of content I wanted to test out how well the FBX version would load into ArchiCAD via the Modelport plugin. Turns out very well. Rendered off a few shots using Octane and they are excellent. Great texture maps as well.
