The library includes 122 grass and flower models in 20 species, each with several model variations to ensure realistic looks. The models are available in various 3D formats (3Ds Max, Sketchup, Blender, MODO, Cinema 4D, MODO, LightWave, Artlantis, FBX and OBJ). The 3Ds Max scenes come with single plants and fields prepared for iToosoft Forest Pack Pro 4.2.4. The GrowFX includes all plants as GrowFX 1.9.6 scenes for further random variation or realistic wind animation. Does the GrowFX version include the files form the 3ds Max version ? (3ds Max)
Yes, the GrowFX version includes EVERYTHING from the 3ds Max version PLUS the GrowFX scene files for each single grass plant.
Do I need GrowFX to use Real Grass ? (3ds Max)
No, you don´t NEED to own GrowFX to use Real Grass. The 3ds Max version (not the GrowFX version) has static models, while the GrowFX version includes each grass plant as 3ds Max scene with GrowFX as model source. Using GrowFX will enable you to create more random variations of each grass, animate growth or wind.
Do I need Forest Pack Pro to use Real Grass ? (3ds Max)
Well, yes and no. If you want to create grass fields, like the ones included in this product, then YES, you should consider Forest Pack Pro from iToosoft, because it´s the most advanced scattering plugin for 3ds Max on the market. There are alternatives for scattering, like Multiscatter, or even the integrated Particle Flow together with the new vray instancer feature in vray 3.0 or Corona scatter within Corona itself. But the easiest and fastest solution to create large scale grass fields with many grasses really is Forest Pack Pro.
NO, you don´t need Forest Pack Pro, if you want to place grass plants individually in your scene, in a garden, on a street or other defined places which do not require hundreds or thousands of grasses.
How do I install the Forest Pack Pro library ? (3ds Max)
The installation is easy, as you only need to copy one folder from the download in your Forest Pack Pro user library. The installation is described in a short instruction textfile that can be found inside of the Forest Pack Pro folder.
Why is my render missing some grasses when using Forest Pack Pro presets ? (3ds Max)
Unfortunately the original version of Real Grass had a bug that was caused by the way the library was prepared by us. The problem is fixed and a new version of the library is uploaded. You can re-download the file from your MY ACCOUNT again and replace the original Forest Pack Pro files with the new ones. The changed are documented in the change log tab of this product description and in the change log file that comes with the download.
I get strange results when loading grass field presets in Forest Pack Pro ? (3ds Max)
Most likely this is a result of not loading all parts of a grass field. Most grass fields consist of several parts that all need to be loaded in one Forest Pack Pro object each. So if you have 5 parts of a grass field, you need to create 5 Forest Pack Pro objects and load each part into each Forest Pack Pro.

    Real Grass is yet another great product from VizPark. The content produces great results however seems to make the models a little heavy and has extened render times a good amount. Not enough to regret the purchase though. I purchased the 3DSMax version and kind of wish that I had spent the extra money to get the GrowFX version.
