REAL GRASS is a highly realistic grass model library for architectural visualization. The library includes 122 grass and flower models in 20 species, each with several model variations to ensure realistic looks. The models are available in various 3D formats (3Ds Max, Sketchup, Blender, MODO, Cinema 4D, MODO, LightWave, Artlantis, FBX and OBJ). The 3Ds Max scenes come with single plants and fields prepared for iToosoft Forest Pack Pro 4.2.4. The GrowFX includes all plants as GrowFX 1.9.6 scenes for further random variation or realistic wind animation. The product is really impressive and the support guys were very kind! I bought the product to do some real grass moving reacting to a specific point of wind but I couldn’t achieve what I was specting. Distributing the grass with the growFX in order to get the real wind applied, was not possible because it took a lot of processing. GrowFX is not good optmized for this situation. So I had to use FP to do similar results but not exactly because I had to work with fake wind.

I believe these paths are relative, so that you can move the entire folder including textures and still load fine. At least this is the case for 3Ds Max. I´m not 100% sure about Maxwell standalone though.

I’ve bought the real grass collection during the black friday – deal. Really great stuff. I use it within cinema 4D visualize and so I’ve got fast access of all the grass models through the content browser. As cinema 4D visualize is limited in mograph I used surface spread and carbon Scatter to populate the environment. It works great, fast and perfect for me and I can make also use of the maxwell materials, which is great. So finally I’ve to say that this is a great product and it’s worth the price!

By opening my first GrowFX version from this collection, I felt like having found my Eldorado! The plants parameters are extremely well tweaked in order to produce realistic results with the lowest amount possible of mesh… a crucial condition, if you’re about to distribute your models, a huge amount of time.
Materials* are fast, and colors are conform to reality. However, the golden part, the part that makes this collection an Eldorado to me, is the knowledge and the beauty of execution inside, in each of those GrowFX construction model.
A must have for both Arch viz artists and GrowFX users…
