It’s lovely but at least 200,000 verts more than I can use, and I can’t see a reasonable way of converting it to lower-poly. Thanks for the free sample, at least now I know I need to make my own and not buy others! A poly count on the information page would have saved some time…

Thanks for your feedback, but just to clarify, our models are not realtime models, they are for offline rendering and so all of the models are high poly models.

I downloaded the file in FBX format, imported it into Keyshot, changed the materials from diffuse to plastic with a little roughness and the tree was perfect. It is also really easy to change the color of the leaves by checking “Blend with color” in the Texture window. Super easy to use and looks really nice.

Downloaded the OBJ format and imported to SketchUp, the scale was too big and the axes in the wrong direction but it was a quick fix. I emailed Vizpark to get a Sketchup free trial and they replied very quickly with a compatible format. I really liked the 3D trees so far and I’m planning to buy the plants package.

Okay for normal and distant shots but not for close-ups. I rate at 3.5/5 I would have like to see a demo of the grasses.

I downloaded this model as a test before purchasing real shrubs and felt that it was fine as a test but was nothing special. The quality was lower than that of the tree models I make myself but it could be a useful time-saver as a mid-ground/background asset. All in all a decent free asset.

You´re right, the leaves are too big indeed. While this works well in far away distances, it may not work well in close ups. Laubwerk has made a concept of rescaling the trees in their plugin, so they hold up well even in far-away distances.
